CONFLICT OF THE FACULTIES

“Conflict of the Faculties” is a one-day show of a conceptual sculpture by Ilya Orlov. The exhibition is a collateral event to KuvA Research Days 2019. The show is open for the public only on Thursday, the 12th of December at 5-7 pm; on Friday, the 13th of December, the show is viewable by agreement.

Ilya Orlov is a conceptual artist and theorist based in Finland. He is currently completing his doctorate in Fine Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts, Uniarts Helsinki. Orlov participated in Manifesta 10 (2014), and was shortlisted for the Finnish Pavilion at the 2019 Venice Biennale. In 2019, Orlov was awarded Art Foundation Merita’s scholarship in a public ceremony at the Research Pavilion in Venice. Orlov is perhaps best known in Helsinki for his 2017 one-month in situ re-creation of Lenin's actual 1917 apartment next to Hakaniemi Square in Kallio.
