On November 2nd, during a recent visit to Kathmandu, Global Visions researchers had the opportunity to present findings from the ongoing project to representatives from the Ministry of Education, Tribhuvan University, and the Nepal Music Center. Santosh Sharma, Chairman and CEO at Music Nepal and Nepal Sangeet Vidhyalaya, gave a welcoming address, and Principal Investigators Sidsel Karlsen and Heidi Westerlund presented an overview of the research project and its findings. This was followed by Global Visions doctoral researchers Vilma Timonen and Danielle Treacy, who reported on their doctoral projects conducted in Nepal, and local researchers Kushal Karki, Iman Shah and Rizu Tuladhar, who presented the research projects they conducted as part of the Teacher’s Pedagogical Studies (60 ECTS qualification for teaching personnel in Finland), which they completed at the Sibelius Academy in December 2017. The presentations were followed by open discussion and dinner.
