null Pasi Pirinen: Brass musicians are grounded on a strong sense of community
Dear Friends of Brass music,
I am very proud to be able to welcome You to the second international Brass @ Sibelius Academy event.
The brass instrument teachers of Sibelius Academy and a group of other artists of highest international esteem will join together to teach and to perform in the concert halls of the Helsinki Music Centre and the Temppeliaukio Church.
During the week the artists will give instrumental and chamber music masterclasses to a magnificent group of international students. The masterclasses are also open to public with free admission and you are all warmly welcome to follow them.
This year it is a huge pleasure to be able to present groups as diverse as the Stockholm Chamber Brass, Guards Band, UMO Jazz Orchestra, Helsinki Sinfonietta and KOLIZIO.
In the program and in our artist roster we have two strong themes: Nordic dimension and diversity. The event will be a celebration of great music that defies all genres.
Brass music and musicians have always been grounded on a strong sense of community. Indeed, the very instruments themselves were born out of the need to communicate. In this kindred spirit we want you to join us in making Brass @ Sibelius Academy an inspiring event!
