Sue Kay’s expertise covers management and cultural administration – within performing arts organisations, funding bodies, development agencies and higher education. She has worked as a producer, programmer, venue manager, cultural planner, project coordinator, senior lecturer (Subject Director: Cultural Management, Dartington College of Arts) and as Executive Director, Culture South West (the then regional cultural consortium for South West England). 

Since 2005 Kay has operated as a freelance educator, trainer, facilitator and coach, with a particular interest in the challenges and opportunities of collaborative working; professional and organisational development in changing times; and curriculum design and delivery in the cultural management field. 

Sue Kay has an MA in Cultural Management from City University and a PhD in Leadership Studies from the University of Exeter. Formerly a board member of the European Network of Cultural Administration Training Centres (ENCATC) and now resident in France (French speaker), her work is concentrated in Central and Eastern Europe, Nordic-Baltic countries and the Southern Mediterranean region.
