KuvA Research Days 7–9.12.2020  

The sixth edition of KuvA Research Days, arranged by the Academy of Fine Arts at Uniarts Helsinki, addresses a highly complex and heterogeneous set of framing conditions of knowing, learning, thinking and being together. As it happens, the question of framing conditions also affects the event itself.  

The Research Days program 2020 will only be online, run as Zoom Webinar. 

All registered participants have receive participation information via e-mail on Friday 4.12.2020. The e-mail contains links to the Zoom Webinar sessions per day (7-9.12.2020). 

Please note that the times given in the schedules are in Finnish time (CET +1). Please also note that some of the individual parts of the Days program is in Finnish. 

 

Please note: New coronavirus restrictions
In a press conference on Friday, 27 November 2020, the Helsinki Metropolitan Area coronavirus coordination group informed of the new COVID-19 restrictions and recommendations for the Metropolitan Area (Helsinki, Finland). Due to this, Uniarts Helsinki’s new coronavirus guidelines are valid from 30 November 2020 to 10 January 2021.

The galleries of the Academy of Fine Arts at Uniarts Helsinki will be closed from the public, e.g. the event site for the Research Days 2020, the Exhibition Laboratory gallery is closed starting from 30.11.2020. People from outside the university community are not allowed in the audience during events.

The impact on the KuvA Research Days 7-9.12.2020 is the following: We will not have any audience, speakers, or performers present onsite, in the Exhibition Laboratory gallery during the KuvA Research Days 7-9.12.2020 as the gallery is closed and public events are prohibited.

Due to technical and logistical reasons we have closed the registratration to the KuvA Research Days early, on Monday 30.11.2020. 

We will inform on possible changes in program due to the COVID-19 restrictions. Changes will be noted in the individual days program on the website.

The last exhibition at the Exhibition Laboratory this autumn is hosted by the Doctoral programme at the Academy of Fine Arts. Doctoral trainee Jack Faber curates the exhibition Cooking for the Apocalypse that is open 20.11–9.12.2020. The exhibition deals with questions concerning our relationship with the environment and other species. The exhibition shows works by students, teachers, and other guest artists. Please note: The galleries of the Academy of Fine Arts at Uniarts Helsinki will be closed from the public, e.g. the event site for the Research Days 2020, the Exhibition Laboratory gallery is closed starting from 30.11.2020.
