What the practice guides say is important
1.
You should spend at least 10 minutes stretching and warming up before starting to practice in earnest.
Cooling down removes the lactic acid that builds up in your muscles during practice, and thereby accelerates recovery by about fifty per cent!!!
Remember cool down stretching at the end of your session as well.
2.
Try to place important exercises requiring a lot of concentration at the best time, that is, in the morning.
Remember to take sufficient breaks throughout the day.
Remember that your brains optimal capacity for learning is about four hours a day.
3.
A typical feature of pain on exertion is that you only start to feel it several hours after the actual strain. So dont keep playing until it hurts! Stop playing before you feel any signs of fatigue
If you feel pain as soon as you start playing, then you should also seek help immediately.
